so did a little bit of web-surfing during break time from artypartying and i came across this dude on fecal face. his name is corey arnold. he is a photographer/fisherman. click on his name for his website. in the meantime i sampled some pictures off his site to encourage one and all to check his stuff out. its pretty damn amazing. i mean, i almost want to move to alaska right now and start fishing. literally.
so my good friends matty crane and coach rob halma got a new apartment not too far down the block from my humble household and i’ve been celebrating with them. their spot is at the corner of loma and broadway in the lbc. it is sweet, they kick ass and the house is officially titled “the halfway house” in respect to it being directly between the timmy and mel mel residence and my own. this summer will be soooo good. anyone not in the lbc, get here by summer or be prepared to miss out on some epic activities. aside from obvious beach excursions, we also have ideas of playing soccer, softball, biking, dinners, bbqs, rock band’ing, art’ing, etc. etc. etc. so many good things with so many good people. i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again. i am blessed to be surrounded by so many insanely amazing people.
aside from kicking it at the halfway, i did a little more work in the collage piece, bought a new pair of kicks that will help me in my quest to “make myself classy”, and created a new thingy for my necklace. don’t worry! be happy!
i brought some construction paper into work and had people draw on em. some of these are from that, some are from a weekend of hanging with friends and others are some that i did. i’m going to fill in some of the smaller holes in the collage with scratch construction paper today and work on a couple more drawings in hopes that i can have the thing nearly covered by the end of the eve.
so homeslice norton went to this fashion show and said it was “fresh”. i think he was right. i love the layering and i love that they are sticking with the skinny.
here are some quick photographs of the drawings my home girls from la la land and the lbc put together when they came over to the yonder crib to celebrate life. i love this stuff.
so my mums best friend darlene gave me this rad WoodWick candle as a housewarming gift. rather than just buy a thank you card to send her (she lives up inside of idaho), i figured i would make one for her. i started it right away, but lagged in the process. too many projects going on at once. anyways, heres the nearly finished product. pizza and out.
so i’ve realized that nylon guys is a pretty legit magazine. its fairly well rounded and does a good job of demonstrating what is hip to the jive (cool in our world ?). it definitely isn’t entirely on point in my eyes, but its pretty damn close. i found the quote in my previous point in the aforementioned magazine, and these things also….
so i got deus ex machina from australia. sweet, beautiful, amazing, glorious, perfect motorcycles. seriously. if i could i would have one on my doorstep in the morn. these pics will you give you a pretty good idea of what i’m talking about. i got all these pics off their website. enjoy. you are allowed to lust after them. i do.
.
next up we’ve got barguments by doug hanks. it basically gives all of us knuckleheads something to bull poop about whenever we have had a couple and get sick of talking about real life. any one in?
so i gotta check some measurements, but i need something for my kitchen to store my microwave and other stuff since my kitchen is tinnnnnnnnny. this is called the LERBERG SHELF UNIT from IKEA and its a whopping $19.99. its just a smidge small, but its close.
and then i remembered that timmy said mel mel got hers at COSTCO. the SEVILLE 36″ WIDE FOUR-SHELF UNIT. much better… but 8.5″ too wide. damn. check it out though. its saweet. $64.99.
why did i figure from the beginning that TARGET would be the ticket, or at least i think. CHROME MICROWAVE CART. $34.99. has hooks and all other sorts of shizah to fulfill even my strangest of ideas. bam! thoughts?
while this project is taking forever, and is still nowhere near completion, it is quickly becoming freaking sweet. heres why:
1. i’ve gotten numerous friends to at least give drawing a shot, even if they have never once even considered it an option.
2. even if my friends don’t like what they are drawing, collectively thrown together, the viewer is going to get a quick glimpse of what life is like amongst myself and my friends.
3. because i have to cover so much terrain, i am being forced to continue to draw even if i feel like i’m forcing drawings out. while this may be frowned upon, i think it can only help me. i’m no longer just drawing the creepy scary things that flow most naturally from my hands.
4. its motha bleepin huge y’all
5. and seriously, if randoms want to contribute, email me. i’ll literally snail mail you some construction paper. jacobryanpost@gmail.com. pizza.
