photographs by dan weaver…
October 31, 2009 | Filed Under art, clothes | No Commentsmy friend dan weaver shot these photos for me. i styled some new suiting that we got in at SA and had mr. eb model ‘em whilst weaver shot some film photos down in tribeca. i’m really excited with how they all turned out. i am hoping that these photographs, once put up on some blogs, will help us blow through all of these epic new suits. here are a few of my favorite shots.
i’ve been away…
April 21, 2009 | Filed Under art, clothes, life | 3 Commentsbut only due to a lack of internet at my apartment… in recent days i’ve seen the tallest man on earth play, poverty & co, and quiz kids… i’ve taken a tumble upon my bicycle… i’ve played a game called “quip it” which is thoroughly entertaining… i’ve watched planet earth via dvd… i’ve figured out that i’m probably moving… i’ve received my amazing shoes… i’ve purchased my plane tickets to california… i’ve seen the most beautiful day in ny since i’ve been here, followed by one of the most disgusting days of rain… dan weaver has moved to ny… i’ve gotten pretty good at tiger woods on wii… finished a piece for my sister kristie’s birthday… and figured out that i might not ever finish the “go for it” piece that i continually find new things to do with… thats about it for now…
summer shoe…
April 9, 2009 | Filed Under clothes | No Commentsi am currently on a mission to find a well made summer shoe that i can wear everyday this summer if i want to, without having to worry about the shoe shredding to pieces after a month… in fact, i’d like to get a shoe that i can use through fall, winter, next spring, next summer, etc… i’m far too picky, so i will probably be happy, but here are some options (or unavailable options due to japanese exclusivity, stock no longer available, etc….)
also, this past week i met Bob Clark, vice-president of Alden shoes… we had a good chat about retail, footwear, and nyc weather… he turned me on to a couple of different people doing good things with footwear… one being leather soul hawaii… check it out…
side note, some of these are just random shoes/boots that i found in my quest and think are fresh…
today’s finds…

You Asked For It! Blackbird Opens Its Online Store
Everyone here at Blackbird is thrilled to announce the opening of our new online store at http://www.blackbirdballard.com. During the three years we’ve been communicating online via our blog, http://helloblackbird.blogspot.com, we’ve been getting the same question: when will you have an online store? The answer is – now! As of today, everyone around the world can easily browse and buy our selection of award-winning clothing and accessories. (Yes, we ship internationally!)
We’ve tried to build an online store that reflects everything we love about our Ballard (Seattle) retail location: unique, hand-selected products and a simple, honest, straightforward shopping experience. You’ll find a broad range of men’s clothing to fit any budget, plus an incredible selection of accessories like hats, scarves, notebooks, grooming supplies, and leather goods. We feature an eclectic mix of products from brands such as April 77, Comme des Garçons, Coming Soon from Yohji Yamamoto, and Julius. The site also features a selection of sale products, so online shoppers now have access to the same great deals as our local customers.
Thanks to all of our loyal customers that have made this possible. Head over to http://www.blackbirdballard.com – we hope you like it! We’d love to hear your feedback!

new kickas, ezzzz on the wally joyner…
July 7, 2008 | Filed Under clothes | No Commentsa bit of days back in my time, i saw this dude with sweet kicks. he said he got them in venice for a mere twenty american dollars… i found em… i got two… if you want to find em, you’ll have to ask… meow

about eleven months later…
July 1, 2008 | Filed Under clothes | No Commentsi’ve broken wind in them, urinated in them, biked in them, spilled food upon them, probably pooped in them, blown my nose on them, wiped oil on them, sand papered wood on them, slept in them, used them as a pillow, spilled countless variations of alcoholic beverage upon them, febreez’ed them… haven’t washed them. very gross. its almost time.

shall i shart?!
this here yonder watch…
June 30, 2008 | Filed Under clothes | No Commentsis sweet. i’m beginning to take better notice of watches these days. i am hoping to get a nice watch in the next couple years that will last me a lifetime. yesterday at work, i saw a customer’s watch and proceeded to ask about it. i’m glad i asked.
his watch was a Bathys.
and turns out it has a kind of cool story behind it. designed by John Patterson, a surfer in Kauai, the watches are made to survive extreme conditions. from Bathys website:
“My watches are designed to work regardless of the amount of abuse they have to take. Here in Hawai’i you might be at 13,000 feet up Mauna Kea one day and 100 feet underwater the next. There’s not many places on Earth where such extremes are a routine part of life.”
Aesthetically the watches are on point. And durable? I might have to test one out since you can get the shown design for $650.

March 30, 2008 | Filed Under art, clothes, life | No Commentsso my good friends matty crane and coach rob halma got a new apartment not too far down the block from my humble household and i’ve been celebrating with them. their spot is at the corner of loma and broadway in the lbc. it is sweet, they kick ass and the house is officially titled “the halfway house” in respect to it being directly between the timmy and mel mel residence and my own. this summer will be soooo good. anyone not in the lbc, get here by summer or be prepared to miss out on some epic activities. aside from obvious beach excursions, we also have ideas of playing soccer, softball, biking, dinners, bbqs, rock band’ing, art’ing, etc. etc. etc. so many good things with so many good people. i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again. i am blessed to be surrounded by so many insanely amazing people.
aside from kicking it at the halfway, i did a little more work in the collage piece, bought a new pair of kicks that will help me in my quest to “make myself classy”, and created a new thingy for my necklace. don’t worry! be happy!
the halfway house situation

far right you’ve got timmy and mel mel
middle territory is the halfway house
far left you’ve got me and the hood
